Educational Assistance Program

The Educational Assistance Program (EAP) is a flagship initiative designed to support the poor, vulnerable, and academically challenged students. EAP scholars are below-average students who have a strong desire to complete their education.

Since 2021, the EAP expanded from 537 scholars in 12 partner Diocesan Social Action Centers (DSACs) to 877 scholars in 23 partner DSACs across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Services:

We provide educational and financial assistance not just to the scholar but also to their parents in coordination with the different programs of the DSACs.

  • Weekly tutorial sessions.
  • Spiritual nourishment, training, and formations for both EAP scholars and parents in coordination with the different programs of the DSACs.
  • Distribution of monthly allowances worth Php 1,200.00.
  • Regular monitoring and guidance.

Luzon: Boac, Bontoc-Lagawe, Ilagan, Infanta, Libmanan, Tarlac, Urdaneta, San Jose, Nueva Ecija

Visayas: Capiz, Calbayog, Cebu, Dumaguete, Kalibo, Naval, San Carlos

Mindanao: Cotabato, Isabela de Basilan, Jolo, Kidapawan, Marawi, Mati, Malaybalay, Ozamiz

Nutrition Program

The Nutrition Program is a special component of the Educational Assistance Program (EAP) that addresses food insecurity and malnutrition among early-grade learners (Kindergarten to Grade 3) from vulnerable and marginalized families across the Philippines. Launched in partnership with the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) in 2024, the program aims to improve school attendance, learning outcomes, and overall well-being by providing daily meal support.

Services:

We provide daily meal subsidy to the 200 undernourished learners enrolled in 14 CEAP partner mission schools nationwide. We allocate Php 120.00 daily meal allowance per learner covering 200 school days per year.

Visayas: Borongan, Palo

Mindanao: Pagadian, Zamboanga

Community Schooling

The Alay Kapwa Community Schooling (AKCS) Program is a part of Caritas Philippines’ Alay Kapwa Legacy Stewardship Program in partnership with Magna Anima Teachers College, Unilab Foundation, Center for Integrated STEM Education, and the Diocese of Novaliches.

The AKCS Program is a church-based Alternative Learning System for Out-of-School Youth and Young Adults to help them complete Basic Education and train them in the skills that will both interest them and what are needed in the industries in their community, and secure them gainful employment.
