Caritas Philippines recently wrapped up a 4-day Humanitarian Aid and Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Orientation and Planning session for the dioceses of Central Luzon and the National Capital Region (NCR). This activity is part of a series of capacity-strengthening initiatives under the EMPOWER Asia project, supported by CRS Philippines, over the next 2 years.

The orientation covered essential humanitarian topics, including the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), SPHERE standards, Safeguarding and Safe and Dignified Programming, the Caritas International Emergency Toolkit, Emergency Operations Centers, and CCCM. The session also included planning for the formation and mechanism of a sub-regional humanitarian team cluster.

This activity aims to equip the dioceses with the knowledge and systems to decentralize humanitarian crisis management efforts, resources, and response coordination within their respective regions.
