History of the Forum
The forum has evolved since its inception:
– 2015: First Asia Shelter Forum (ASF) in Bangkok, Thailand
– 2018: Second ASF in Bangkok, Thailand
– 2019: Third ASF in Indonesia
– 2020: Fourth ASF hosted virtually by Nepal due to COVID-19
– 2021: Fifth ASF hosted by Nepal with face-to-face engagement
– 2022: Hosted by Bangladesh, where the event was renamed to Asia Pacific Shelter and Settlements Forum (APSSF)
Purpose of the Forum
The Asia-Pacific Shelter and Settlements Forum serves as an effective platform for practitioners to:
1. Meet and share lessons and experiences in Shelter and Settlements response across the region
2. Explore best practices in communities with safe, adequate, and dignified shelters and settlements
