Bryniel Pinkihan, a ninth-grade student from Tinec, Ifugao, has found a path to success through the Alay Kapwa Para Sa Karunungan – Educational Assistance Program (EAP). Once faced with a long daily walk to school, Bryniel now resides at the convent of the former Bontoc-Lagawe DSAC Director. His determination, coupled with the support of the EAP, has helped him overcome challenges and thrive.
Demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and community spirit, Bryniel is actively involved in his parish. He serves as an altar server, leads the rosary, and assists with household chores. The EAP has significantly eased his financial burdens by providing school supplies and valuable tutoring. “Thanks to the program, I no longer need to ask my parents for money to buy school supplies,” Bryniel shares. “The tutoring also helps me with subjects I find challenging.”
Initially shy, Bryniel has blossomed through the EAP’s encouragement of engagement and interaction. He now actively participates in parish activities, including youth camps and recollections, showcasing his commitment to personal growth and community involvement. His academic excellence stands as a testament to both his hard work and the support provided by the EAP.
Bryniel’s story exemplifies the EAP’s holistic approach to empowering young people. By providing educational resources, fostering confidence, and encouraging community engagement, the program helps students like Bryniel overcome obstacles and reach their full potential. His journey serves as an inspiring example of how targeted support can transform lives and create opportunities for success.
