As we celebrate the joyous birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, Caritas Philippines extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of our journey this year. Christmas reminds us that God’s boundless love and mercy manifest in the ordinary and extraordinary moments of our lives.
We thank the Lord for blessing another fruitful year of Alay Kapwa. Through your unwavering support and generosity, we continue to implement our legacy programs: Alay Kapwa para sa Karunungan (Educational Assistance Program & Community Schooling), Kalusugan (Health and Nutrition), Kabuhayan (Livelihoods and Food Security), Kalikasan (Ecological Advocacies), Katugunan sa Kalamidad (Humanitarian and Disaster Risk Reduction Program), Katarungan at Kapayapaan at Mabuting Pamamahala (Justice and Peace and Good Governance), and Kasanayan (Institutional Development and Capacity Strengthening).
This year, we have reached communities deeply impacted by disasters, climate change, and human rights abuses. We have brought hope to families of our Alay Kapwa para sa Karunungan scholars, who now look forward to brighter futures through education. We have nourished bodies and spirits through the Alay Kapwa para sa Kalusugan – PaMEALya family feeding program.
Our diocesan social action centers, driven by compassion and resolve, have gone above and beyond their mandates to serve the most vulnerable. Despite limited resources, they have made miracles happen—bringing Christ’s love to those who need it most.
As we gather with our loved ones this Christmas, may we carry the light of Christ in our hearts and continue to share His hope and joy with others. Let us work together to build a world where no one is left behind—a world of peace, justice, and love.
From the entire Caritas Philippines family, Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
In Christ,
+ Most Rev. Jose Colin M. Bagaforo, D.D.
